We’re getting a clear picture of how the hospitals in Northeast Ohio are stacking up to each other and others around the country. The Best Hospital rankings by U.S. News and World Report were released overnight Tuesday.
Two Cleveland hospitals made the honor roll. The honor roll is the best 18 hospitals of the nearly 5,000 hospitals around the country.
The Cleveland Clinic ranked fourth in the honor roll of best hospitals. University Hospitals Case Medical Center ranked 18th overall.
Part of the criteria for the rankings include national rankings in separate medical specialities. The Cleveland Clinic ranked nationally in 14 medical specialities. It was number one for cardiology and heart surgery for the 19th consecutive year. It’s also the number one hospital in Ohio.
