Jennifer Hudson will perform at T.D. Jakes’ Women of Purpose concert Aug. 31 as part of the MegaFest family festival.
Earlier in the day, Hudson also will answer questions after a screening of her Jakes-presented biopic, Winnie Mandela, at MegaFest’s International Faith and Family Film Festival.
The Oscar-winning actress and singer will perform at the concert alongside Toni Braxton, Holly Robinson Peete, Babyface, Brandy, Mary Mary, Kim Burrell and Joe. Steve Harvey will host the event.
Hudson, a former American Idol contestant and actress, starred in NBC’s Broadway-set drama Smash. She won an Academy Award and was nominated for a cast Grammy for her role in the 2006 film Dreamgirls. Hudson is also highly visible as a spokeswoman for Weight Watchers.
