1. THANKSGIVING WEATHER

Wintry storm, holiday travel: This storm sure is persistent. Not satisfied with whipping up on California and the Southern Plains, the wintry system is ready to give the Deep South a good soaking today. Flash flooding is possible. The Eastern Seaboard is the next stop, where forecasters say it will continue its march, dumping rain, ice and snow. New England is the final stop, just in time for Black Friday.

2. SANDY HOOK SHOOTING REPORT

Case closed: There are lots of details, but the investigation into last year’s massacre at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Connecticut doesn’t answer the big question: Why? Why did 21-year-old Adam Lanza go into his old elementary school and gun down 20 first-graders and six adults before killing himself?

3. OBAMACARE

Courting the Affordable Care Act: The next stop for the troubled health care reform law could be the U.S. Supreme Court. At issue is a provision that requires employers of a certain size to offer insurance coverage for birth control and other reproductive health services. This is a constitutional issue for plaintiffs like craft store chain Hobby Lobby. Its owners say being forced to provide insurance coverage that includes “morning-after” pills goes against their Christian values, First Amendment rights and amounts to abortion. The justices could announce today whether they will take up the case – one that has already split appeals courts across the country.
