Love is in the air.

A love for flavor, that is.

Valentine’s Day means romantic dinners for many of us. It’s a time to celebrate the love in our lives. Fortunately, the “small plates, big flavors” concept fits perfectly into our plans. The one thing to keep in mind is, don’t cut corners on the ingredients. We want to use the best that we can get for something as important as this.

Here’s a menu you’ll fall in love with on this day to celebrate love!

Love is rich, love is bold, love is deep, and love is satisfying, and it is deserving of a dish to match. We think this one fits the bill.

Petite Filet with Balsamic Reduction and Goat Cheese

6 ounces petite filet mignon, divided into two steaks

1 tablespoon olive oil

1 teaspoon coarse salt

1 teaspoon fresh ground pepper

1 tablespoon goat cheese, crumbled

½ cup balsamic vinegar

1 tablespoon honey

1 tablespoon butter

Prepare the reduction first. Bring the balsamic vinegar to a boil in a small sauce pan. Reduce heat to a simmer and honey. Allow to reduce by half. Whisk in butter and reserve.
