controversy in the faith community over its non-literal translation. The brouhaha has caused some, even before
seeing it, to rail against the film.
But the Oscar-winning star of the movie, Russell Crowe, is annoyed with the backlash and is letting it be knownthat he thinks the hullabaloo is pretty dumb.
In an interview with Good Morning America’s Robin Roberts, he said, “We’ve had probably over a year now of
very harsh criticism from a bunch of people who have put their name and stamp on an opinion that’s not even
based on the movie or seeing the movie.”
Crowe argues that the foundation of the strong opinions against Noah are “just an assumption of what it could
be, or how bad it could be, or how wrong it could be in their eyes, which I think quite frankly is bordering on
absolute stupidity,” he laughed, “because now, people are seeing the movie and they’re realizing how
respectful it is and how potent it is.”
