Several communities are opening warming centers for anyone who needs to get in from the cold.
Akron — F I Community Housing of Summit County, 619 Johnston St. (Open overnight Wednesday to Thursday. Warm cots and food available.)
Cleveland — Glenville, Zelma-George, Michael Zone and Fairfax recreation centers are open 24 hours until further notice. (Addresses are 680 East 113th St., 3155 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., 6301 Lorain Ave., 2335 East 82nd St.)
Parma — Donna Smallwood Activities Center will be open 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday. Address is 7001 West Ridgewood (behind City Hall).
“We also encourage neighbors to check on neighbors, especially the elderly, to make sure we are all OK,” Parma Mayor Tim DeGeeter said.
