One day after Ohio State claimed the National Championship Trophy, many who know quarterback Cardale Jones took pride in his role in the victory.

“Exceptional, He’s exceptional,” said LaVera Thornton, who taught Jones Algebra at Ginn Academy in Cleveland.

Jones attended Ginn Academy and played football as a member of the Glenville High School Football team. Thornton told she believes Jones’ recent success goes well the football field.

“To see him do that for us, to represent the school so well is not only prideful it’s almost sentimental because we’re here battling every day to show the world and to show the kids you count, you matter,” added Thornton.
