With only four weeks and 13 games left in the regular season, the Cleveland Cavaliers find themselves in a battle for positioning within the Eastern Conference standings.

Currently, at 43-26, the Cavaliers hold second place in the Eastern Conference and first in the Central Division, but their narrow two-game advantage could be erased by the Toronto Raptors, who have two more contests to play than Cleveland over the next month.

However, the Cavaliers are committed to doing what they have to do in order to hold onto that No. 2 seed.

“We’ve got to finish in second place, so we’re thinking about that,” Cavaliers coach David Blatt said. “Where and if there’s an opportunity to rest guys, we will.

“We’re fighting, and will fight probably till the last days for what looks like the second position. We’ve got to be thinking about that right now.”

Earlier in the year, Blatt talked about the need to rest players ahead of the postseason, but has adjusted that philosophy slightly now that the playoffs are in sight.
