Downey revealed that the first season of the series would be the first 10 books of Acts. The series is the first ever to tell the story of the early church in such a way and for such a broad audience.

Burnett maintained that 100 million people watched the original ‘Bible’ series and were very enthused about ‘A.D.’ being on broadcast TV (NBC). The couple went above and beyond to make sure that viewers got the true feel for the accounts the Bible was telling.

When asked if they have felt the supernatural hand of God on them as He uses them as instruments in television, Burnett said “in many ways.”

“We now been four months on the road promoting this, we went six months making it and our energy hasn’t lapse,” He declared, “You have to feel there’s a Holy Spirit, supernatural energy that’s doing it, while we are doing His work.”
