It’s no secret that allergies are a huge pain in the rear and while most allergy sufferers take over-the-counter medication, making small adjustments to your diet can make all the difference. Check out these five foods that can alleviate some of the symptoms associated with allergies.

1. Fish

Because salmon, tuna, mackerel, sardines, and other types of fish contain omega-3 fatty acids, they can lower your chances of developing allergies by fighting inflammation. For that reason, it’s believed that fish might provide relief to those who already suffer from allergies, but additional research is required.

2. Fruits and vegetables

You can never go wrong with raw foods, such as fruits and vegetables, especially when they’re loaded with vitamins C and E. Studies have shown that high levels of vitamin C reduce histamine and help it break down faster, once it’s released, helping you to breathe easier.
