MH370

Debris found: It appears to be from a Boeing 777, but did it come from MH370? The debris was found yesterday off the coast of Reunion Island in the western Indian Ocean. Boeing officials, based on photos, think the debris is from one of their 777s. Malaysia has sent a team to the island to take a closer look at it. If these are pieces from MH370, it would be the first bit of physical evidence that the plane crashed.

CINCINNATI SHOOTING

Intense indictment: Joe Deters didn’t mince words — “This is the most asinine act I’ve ever seen a police officer make” — when he announced the murder indictment of University of Cincinnati Police Officer Ray Tensing. Deters, the Hamilton County prosecutor, played body camera footage of the traffic stop where Tensing shot Samuel DuBose in the head. The video appears to contradict Tensing’s version of what happened, namely that he was forced to shoot DuBose after almost being run over. Tensing is expected to make his first court appearance today.

CECIL THE LION

Dental drama: Where is Minnesota dentist Walter Palmer? He’s gone underground as the fallout continues after his killing of a prized African lion with a bow and arrow. His dental practice, Red River Dental, is shuttered. No one is answering the door at his Minneapolis home. Oh, and he’s also trending on Twitter (hashtag #WalterPalmer). The Zimbabweans who allegedly assisted Palmer on the hunt have been charged in the case and officials want to talk to Palmer. He’s said he would cooperate in the investigation, but it’s unknown if he’s been contacted by anyone yet.
