Community activist and Fulton West Block Club leader Rebecca Kempton is proposing a new law she believes could make a difference in slowing down teen gun violence.
Kempton is calling for greater parental accountability. If a teen uses a gun, the teens parents should be charged with child endangering.
Kempton is responding to the drive-by shooting death of 5-year-old Ramone Burnett outside his Cleveland home on Sept. 4.
Dontavious Williams, 18, and Marlon Hackett, 19, were both charged with aggravated murder in connection with Burnett’s death.
The 5-year-old was gunned down while playing football with his friends.
