The San Diego Chargers defeated the Cleveland Browns, 30-27, on a last-second field goal by rookie kicker Josh Lambo at Qualcomm Stadium today.

Initially, Lambo was off the mark with a 39-yard field goal attempt, but an offsides penalty gave him a second shot to win the game, and that is exactly what he did with a 34-yarder on an untimed down after time had expired.

Browns quarterback Josh McCown delivered a one-yard touchdown pass to tight end Gary Barnidge and then, found wide receiver Taylor Gabriel with a slant pass on the ensuing two-point conversion to draw the team even with the San Diego Chargers with 2:09 to play in regulation at Qualcomm Stadium.

Two plays before hauling in the touchdown, it was Barnidge who made a catch in tight coverage while falling out of bounds. Barnidge tipped the ball with his right hand and then, corralled it as he fell to the field, but the official on the sideline ruled the pass incomplete, but the Browns quickly challenged the call.
