Samaria Rice spoke with newsnet5.com about the death of her son 12-year-old Tamir Rice at the hand of Cleveland Police. Her 17-year-old son, Tavon rice spoke about the death for the first time. The grand jury is hearing evidence about the police shooting of Tamir.

“They had no business pulling up in the grass in the first place,” said Tavon Rice. “I haven’t been getting a lot of sleep.”

Tavon said he saw the commotion in the park, where his brother was shot and approached the scene.

“They said ‘if you cross that tape, you’re getting arrested,” said Tavon Rice.

He crossed it anyway, and was arrested.
