On Sunday, July 17, downtown will look a bit different and probably become a little more frustrating.

Delegates from across the country will begin arriving, with the Republican National Convention officially kicking off Monday, July 18.

WKYC talked with a convention official about what to expect here in one short week.

Dave O’Neil, the press secretary for the convention, says they’re working hard to turn Quicken Loans Arena into a crisp and clean convention hall.

They’ll place 2,500 chairs on what’s normally the basketball court. They plan to finish the transformation on Saturday, July 16.
