A group of youngsters on Cleveland’s west side spent their sunny Sunday afternoon showing their gratitude for local first responders.

“Free juice and cookies to police, fire and EMS!” two bright yellow signs surrounding a small table declared.

By noon, one officer had arrived to give the kids some police patches, and they were excited to give him the treats.

“Given the recent events that’s occurred over the last couple of days, we really wanted to show support for police, and not just police but the communities as well,” Avery Trank said.

Once they’re done with their temporary freebie stand, the remainder of the goods will be donated to a nearby police station.

“We wanted to show our children that police are good,” Trank continued. “You get a couple bad seeds in everything you do, but not all police are bad.”
