Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg Intensifies Criticism Of Trump:
Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s well-known candor was on display in her chambers late Monday, when she declined to retreat from her earlier criticism of Donald Trump and even elaborated on it.
“He is a faker,” she said of the presumptive Republican presidential nominee, going point by point, as if presenting a legal brief. “He has no consistency about him. He says whatever comes into his head at the moment. He really has an ego. … How has he gotten away with not turning over his tax returns? The press seems to be very gentle with him on that.”

Baton Rouge Police: Three Arrested In Plot To Harm Officers:
Baton Rouge Police Chief Carl Dabadie on Tuesday said officers have arrested three people they believe were planning to kill police in the Louisiana city.
The threat emerged after the shooting death of Alton Sterling last week by Baton Rouge police, which has prompted weeklong protests by people concerned about police use of deadly force.

The American political universe will focus on Cleveland next week when Republicans from around the country gather for the Republican National Convention.
But this Midwestern city has an identity that extends far beyond politics. Photographer Alex Webb recently captured the feel of the place before the hordes of conservatives and delegates descend to formally nominate Donald Trump as the GOP’s choice for president.
Webb took more than 7,000 photographs during his week in the Rust Belt city.
Cleveland is the second-most populous city in the key swing state of Ohio and home to the NBA’s Cavaliers, NFL’s Browns and MLB’s Indians. It’s a diverse city, too: 53% of its population is African-American.
‘Hip Hop Honors’ Tips Hat To Women Trailblazers, Tackles Racial Issues:
Monday night’s “Hip Hop Honors” was a chance to honor both the first ladies of hip-hop and bring attention to racial unrest in this country.
Queen Latifah, Missy Elliott, Lil’ Kim and the group Salt-N-Pepa were the honorees for “VH1 Hip Hop Honors: All Hail the Queens.” Many of those attending used the ceremony as an opportunity to address issues of racism.
“I don’t care how much or things I have, or Puff has,” Queen Latifah said. “If I go outside and try to hail a cab and he passes me for the white woman standing right there, that racism is still alive and kicking. And we have to change that.”
In honoring Latifah, rapper-actor Common paused to pay tribute to the Black Lives Matter movement
“I also want to take this moment to honor all the sisters who have been on the front lines in our ongoing movement for justice,” Common said. “I’m talking about Fannie Lou Hamer, Diane Nash, Angela Davis, Assata Shakur, Shirley Chisholm. I’m talking about the Black Lives Matter founders.”
