There are so many apps on the market, many of which are great for education. We’ve picked a few of our free favorites to help parents and students have a successful, organized school year.

1. DUOLINGO

Learning a new language is no easy feat, especially when you take the summer off and forgot how to conjugate verbs. Duolingo  is an app for anyone learning a new language. It has 40 courses that cover 23 languages. The app turns lessons into games to help you with translating, speaking and listening. It’s available for iOS and Android devices.

2. QUIZLET

Say goodbye to paper flash cards, you can create them digitally now. Quizlet is a flash card creator. You can input your own information and quiz yourself on the material. The app works great with several subjects like vocabulary, history and science. Students can study on-the-go even when there’s no WiFi available. Teachers can also make a set of cards for a class. The app is available for Apple and Android phones.

3. myHomework Student Planner

The last app isn’t study related. If your kid has trouble staying organized, try myHomework Student Planner. The app keeps track of assignment deadlines. Papers, quizzes and tests are color coded, so you know when they’re due or late. The app, which is available for iOS and Android devices, also reminds parents and kids about after-school activities, sports practices and weekend schedules.
