Several smartphone apps can lead predators right to your front door – no hacking necessary.

On Monday, the Cleveland Division of the FBI warned parents to be vigilant in monitoring their children’s use of mobile apps.

Authorities released new information today in the case of a little girl who was abducted in May, and an attempted abduction in Elyria back in February.

Special Agent Vicki Anderson says social media or an app may have helped the individual who attempted the abductions figure out where the children lived.

“A lot of information is getting out about where your kid goes to school or where you live or where you walk home from school,” Anderson said.

Anderson announced today that they believe the suspect used information like that to prey on two separate kids, a six-year-old abducted for 17 hours, and a 10-year-old girl whose attempted abductor tried to pull her out of her bedroom window
