Many Browns players are fighting for a roster spot, but rookie Shon Coleman has battled for something much more important than a job. He’s fought for his life.

Coleman was diagnosed with Leukemia in 2010, during his senior year of high school.

“It was shocking,” he said. “It was a major setback I had to get through, so the big thing was keeping faith and getting through the whole thing.”

His dream of playing professional football served as a weapon to beat his opponent. He continued to workout throughout his rigorous treatments.  Nearly four years of being out of the game, he returned to the field in September of 2013. By 2015, Coleman was voted second team All-SEC.
