The Reality Behind Russia’s Fake News:

he 2016 presidential race was rife with disinformation, none more blatant than fake news — hoaxes, half-truths, outright lies — that flashed through the internet at warp speed.

Take, for example, “Pizzagate,” a made-up story of a pedophilia ring supposedly being run out of a Washington, D.C. pizza parlor by none other than Hillary Clinton and her campaign chairman John Podesta.

Fueled by conspiracy theorists posting on social media sites like Reddit, Facebook and Twitter, the story picked up so much traction that The New York Times and the Washington Post were forced to track it down, finally debunking it.

Teen Who Was Relentlessly Bullied Kills Herself In Front Of Her Family:

Brandy Vela’s bedroom is covered in Post-it notes. “You will always own a piece of my heart,” says one. “You will never be forgotten,” says another.

Blue hearts, for her “beautiful blue eyes,” are taped up and down her high school hallway.
All of them a heartbreaking reminder of a life cut short.
Vela killed herself this week, putting a gun to her chest while her family begged her not to. She was 18 years old — and she had been relentlessly bullied.

Former Jets, USC RB Joe McKnight Fatally Shot at Age 28:

Former USC Trojans and New York Jets running back Joe McKnight was shot to death Thursday in Terrytown, Louisiana, following an argument at an intersection, according to the Times-Picayune‘s Jonathan Bullington.

Family members reportedly identified McKnight after arriving at the scene. He was 28 years old.

According to Bullington, a witness said the shooter—who has not been identified—approached McKnight and said, “I told you, don’t you ****with me.”

Nearly One Million Android Phones Infected By Hackers:

Hackers have gained access to more than 1.3 million Google accounts — emails, photos, documents and more — by infecting Android phones through illegitimate apps.

That discovery comes from computer researchers at Check Point, a cybersecurity firm. On Wednesday, Google confirmed to CNNMoney the nature and extent of the problem.

The hackers have managed to steal digital “tokens” that give them access to Google services, like a person’s email and photo collection. But according to Google, hackers have not yet tapped that information and stolen it

Donald Trump delivered an unmistakable message Thursday in his first big speech since election night — the unconventional, impulsive and unscripted person who won a stunning victory is the one that America will get as its President.

The President-elect emerged from three weeks closeted in Trump Tower and his private resorts where he is building his Cabinet, for a full bore, campaign style rally, before a fired up and adoring crowd on the first leg of a pre-inauguration “thank-you” tour through key battleground states with Vice President-elect Mike Pence.
