Monday night, NBC and WKYC Channel 3 premiered the show ‘The Wall,’ which had Akron residents John and Angel Whorton competing to try to win as much as $12 million dollars.
They didn’t win the $12 million prize, but how about $1.3 million?
“I feel so much relief now,” Angel told WKYC Channel 3’s Dawn Kendrick at a watch party the Whortons held at the City of Joy Church in Akron. “I can share this with my family and friends and start giving back to the community.”
The rules of ‘The Wall’ are simple: Get a question correct and a green ball will fall down the wall and add the value of the slot to the players’ winning total. Miss a question and an ominous red ball will fall and deduct the value from the team. Teammates have to work together to build a huge cash prize.
