Tennis great Serena Williams and Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian are engaged.

A spokesperson for Ohanian confirmed that he popped the question while the two were vacationing in Rome. Williams first announced the news herself in a Reddit post on its “r/isaidyes” forum.

Russian Foreign Minister Proposes Expulsion Of 35 US Diplomats:

Russia’s Foreign Ministry has recommended that the Kremlin expel 35 US diplomats from Russia in response to sanctions announced by Washington, Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said Friday.

Lavrov said his ministry proposed the removal of 31 staff members from the US Embassy in Moscow and four from the US consulate in St Petersburg.
The move follows the Obama administration’s decision to expel 35 Russian diplomats from the US and to close two Russian compounds, after the US intelligence community concluded that Moscow had interfered directly in the 2016 US presidential election campaign.
The diplomats and their families were given 72 hours to leave the country.

Cinnabon Apologizes For Tasteless Carrie Fisher Tweet:

Cinnabon has apologized for what it concedes was a tasteless tweet about the death of Carrie Fisher.

Social media was filled Tuesday with heartfelt tributes to the actress who created the Star Wars heroine Princess Leia. There were videos, “force” references and tender memories.

Then there was the Cinnabon tweet.

“RIP Carrie Fisher, you’ll always have the best buns in the galaxy,” the tweet said, in a jaw-dropping mix of commercialism and double entendre on the day she died.

The tweet included a drawing of Princess Leia done in cinnamon shavings, with her famous ringlets around her ears replaced by a cinnamon bun.

It wasn’t up for long, but it quickly drew complaints.

2016: The Year The Music Died:

Move over, 1959. Step aside, 1970.

When it comes to the deaths of musical icons, 2016 may be the worst year ever.
Sunday’s startling death of pop singer George Michael caps 12 wretched months in which we’ve already said goodbye to David Bowie, Glenn Frey, Prince, Merle Haggard and Leonard Cohen, to name just a quintet of hugely popular and influential performers.
It might be the deadliest era for pop music legends since 1970-71, when we lost Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Jim Morrison and Louis Armstrong in a sorrowful span of 11 months.

February 3, 1959, when young rockers Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens and J. P. “The Big Bopper” Richardson were killed in a plane crash, has been called “the Day the Music Died.” This may become known as the Year the Music Died. And it’s not even over.
