2. Christon Gray is giving God complete control over his life
It seems 30-year-old Christon Gray’s music was everywhere last year from ESPN to HBO, FOX and Honda commercials. Instead of trying to chart his own career path, the Christian rapper who managed to make waves outside of the church community says he is ready to put down the proverbial pen to let God take control of writing his story.
“2016. It was the best of times, it was the worst of times,” gospel music veteran Kirk Franklin’s protégé wrote on Instagram. “But I’m going to stop trying to write the rest of the story God already wrote. It’s time to watch my own movie.”
3. Romeo Miller is focusing on God’s peace
After a 2015 lawsuit from his mother Sonya Miller spilled over into 2016, rapper, entrepreneur and “Empire” actor Romeo Miller is focusing on God’s peace in 2017.
“Walking in to 2017 with nothing but peace in my heart. Happy New Year,” Miller wrote on Instagram.
Romeo, 27, is the son of rap mogul Master P who created hip-hop music label No Limit Records in the 90s. He began the new year sharing his peace with other people in the form of Bible study notes about the matter.
