Three noteworthy winners of the 2017 MTV Awards were well-deserved.
Congresswoman Maxine Waters presented the “Best Fight Against the System” award to the historical film “Hidden Figures.” Taraji P. Henson accepted the award for the film. Other films in the category were “Get Out,” “Loving,” “Luke Cage” and “Mr. Robot.”

Trevor Noah took home the award for Best Host for The Daily Show, winning out over “The Ellen DeGeneres Show,” “RuPaul’s Drag Race” and “Full Frontal with Samantha Bee.”
