Trump Tells Pope Francis: ‘I Won’t Forget What You Said’:

“Thank you. I won’t forget what you said,” Trump told Pope Francis, before leaving the Pope’s private study after a half-hour private meeting.
Neither Trump nor the Pope revealed what their conversation entailed and neither the White House nor the Vatican offered any immediate clues, leaving those curious about the first meeting between the two starkly different world leaders thirsting for more.

In a statement, the Vatican said only that the two men discussed “the promotion of peace in the world through political negotiation and interreligious dialogue” and homed in on the need to protect Christians in the Middle East.

Manchester Attack: Bomber Was Known To UK Security Services:

The 22-year-old behind the deadly bombing at an Ariana Grande concert in Manchester was known to security services, British Home Secretary Amber Rudd said Wednesday, as the country elevated its terror threat to the highest level for the first time in a decade.

Police have named Salman Abedi, a British-born national of Libyan descent, as the bomber in the attack on Manchester Arena, which killed at least 22 people, including children. Abedi died in the blast, in what appears to have been a suicide bombing.

Landslide Buries California’s Scenic Highway Near Big Sur:

Dirt and stones are blocking the sweeping views of a coastal scenic highway in California.

A portion of the Pacific Coast Highway, considered by some as one of the most scenic drives in the US, was buried by a massive landslide, the California Department of Transportation said.
On Saturday, more than a million tons of rock and dirt fell down the slope and into the ocean about 8 miles north of San Luis Obispo.

HBO Scraps Jon Stewart’s New Show:

Jon Stewart’s highly anticipated new HBO show has been scrapped.

In a joint statement, Stewart and the network said they have decided not to proceed with a short-form digital animated project due to “technical issues.”

“We all thought the project had great potential but there were technical issues in terms of production and distribution that proved too difficult given the quick turnaround and topical nature of the material,” they said.

The network added that it has “some future projects” planned with the comedian, which “you will be hearing about in the near future.”

‘Dancing With The Stars’ Crowns New Champs, Ending Surprise-Filled Season:

Dancing with the Stars” has wrapped up what could go down as one of the most surprise-filled seasons in its 24-season history.
The new champ is NFL star Rashad Jennings, who with his partner Emma Slater beat out two other duos for the crown.
Jennings and Slater bested Fifth Harmony’s Normani Kordei, who was the frontrunner heading into the finale, and retired MLB player David Ross.
Kordei came in third place, an announcement that was made in the final minutes of the two-hour finale, shocking hosts Tom Bergeron and Erin Andrews, as well as the studio audience.
