The staff member’s identity was not released and their condition is unknown at this time.

It was confirmed Sunday that a Cleveland Heights Middle school staff member was diagnosed with bacterial meningitis.

According to Scott Wartman, Supervisor of Communications, the staff member contracted the disease while on winter break.

School has not been in session since December 20, and will not resume until January 8.
