The Kavanaugh nomination just got even more complicated:

Democrats are demanding an immediate halt to Brett Kavanaugh’s nomination process after his increasingly troubled hopes of reaching the Supreme Court were hit by a new allegation of sexual misconduct as a young man.

Kavanaugh quickly denied the new accusation by a female former fellow student about an alleged incident when he was at Yale University in the early 1980s. He branded the story reported by The New Yorker as part of a smear campaign by Democrats, a charge echoed by the White House.

Bill Cosby will find out his sentence this week on 3 indecent assault charges:

He could get up to 10 years in prison for each conviction, but prosecutors have indicated they are likely to ask for a lesser sentence. Alyssa Milano adds her voice to #WhyIDidntReport movement:

Last year, Alyssa Milano helped popularize the #MeToo movement with a simple tweet.

Now, the actress and activist has added her voice to a related hashtag movement, #WhyIDidntReport, to explain why she did not report her sexual assault to police about 30 years ago.
“It took me years after my assault to voice the experience to my closest friends,” Milano wrote in a first-person piece for Vox. “It took me three decades to tell my parents that the assault had even happened. I never filed a police report. I never told officials. I never tried to find justice for my pain because justice was never an option.

Trump’s trade war with China just got a whole lot bigger:

The trade fight between the United States and China intensified Monday as the two economic superpowers hit each other with their biggest round of tariffs yet.

The Trump administration imposed new 10% tariffs on $200 billion of Chinese goods just after midnight ET (noon in Beijing), spanning thousands of products, including food seasonings, baseball gloves, network routers and industrial machinery parts. China retaliated immediately with new taxes of 5% to 10% on $60 billion of US goods such as meat, chemicals, clothes and auto parts.
The moves are a significant escalation in the growing conflict between the world’s top two economies.
