CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) – Cleveland firefighters responded to Public Square Friday afternoon to investigate reports of smoke in manholes and in the basements of neighboring buildings.

Crews were called to an alley near West 2nd Street and St. Clair Avenue just before 2 p.m.

The Illuminating Company was also requested to the scene because of a power outage at 75 Public Square.

The Cleveland Fire Department has not said what may be causing the smoke in the manholes.
