Luke Perry, star of ‘Beverly Hills 90210’ and ‘Riverdale,’ dead at 52:

Luke Perry, who played the beloved Dylan McKay on the hit coming-of-age series “Beverly Hills 90210,” has died.

Perry, 52, died Monday after suffering a massive stroke, his publicist Arnold Robinson told CNN.
“He was surrounded by his children Jack and Sophie, fiancé Wendy Madison Bauer, ex-wife Minnie Sharp, mother Ann Bennett, step-father Steve Bennett, brother Tom Perry, sister Amy Coder, and other close family and friends. The family appreciates the outpouring of support and prayers that have been extended to Luke from around the world, and respectfully request privacy in this time of great mourning. No further details will be released at this time,” a statement from Robinson read.

Alabama was hit by tornadoes. Now the state has to deal with freeze warnings from an arctic blast:

Freeze warnings will cover much of the same areas in Alabama that were ravaged by a series of tornadoes over the weekend.

An arctic blast is moving across the eastern two-thirds of the US this week. There will be 30 million people — from Texas to Georgia — under a freeze warning Tuesday, CNN meteorologist Taylor Ward said.
This could mean trouble for those in Lee County, Alabama, where at least 23 died after the series of tornadoes, because people still are in need of shelter, and searchers are still trying to find people. Ward said Lee County will see temperatures in the mid-20s Tuesday and Wednesday morning.

 Will Smith Could Play Venus and Serena Williams’ Dad in ‘King Richard’:

A potential new movie could feature Will Smith as Richard Williams, the father of Serena and Venus Williams, in a story of the tennis stars’ upbringing.

According to Mike Fleming Jr. of Deadline, Zach Baylin wrote a spec script titled King Richard.

The story reportedly chronicles Richard Williams’ raising two future star tennis players from Compton, California. Venus and Serena have won 30 individual Grand Slam championships and 14 doubles titles with each other.

Attorney General Bill Barr won’t recuse from oversight of Russia investigation:

The Justice Department announced Monday that Attorney General Bill Barr will not step aside from overseeing the special counsel’s investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election, as anticipation grows over when Robert Mueller will deliver his report to the department.

“Following General Barr’s confirmation, senior career ethics officials advised that General Barr should not recuse himself from the Special Counsel’s investigation,” Justice Department spokesperson Kerri Kupec said in a statement Monday. “Consistent with that advice, General Barr has decided not to recuse.”
