Trump shatters diplomatic etiquette on eve of UK visit:

Donald Trump limbered up for his latest overseas trip — to Britain — in typical style, with remarks that risked insulting his royal hosts and by plunging headlong into the country’s fraught domestic politics.

The US President described one of the newest royals, the Duchess of Sussex — the former Meghan Markle — as “nasty” when he was told the American had once described him as “misogynistic.”

“I didn’t know that she was nasty,” Trump replied in an interview with “The Sun” newspaper. He then tweeted Sunday morning: “I never called Meghan Markle ‘nasty.'”

What to know about Douglas Emhoff, Kamala Harris’ husband, after that onstage protester moment:

When an animal rights protester leapt on stage Saturday to confront Kamala Harris, one of the people who rushed onstage to grab him was her husband Doug Emhoff—a man unknown to most voters, but who is a constant presence at her side on the campaign trail.

By the time Emhoff confronted the protester in a man-bun who was addressing the crowd with the microphone he’d grabbed from Harris, the California senator had already calmly walked off stage; and Karine Jean-Pierre, the president of MoveOn and a veteran political operative, had stepped in between the protester and Harris to de-escalate the situation that occurred midway through the MoveOn forum in San Francisco.

Hotel staff members went into their room and found the couple unresponsive Thursday, said spokesman Frank Felix Duran Mejia of the Dominican Republic National Police. There were no signs of violence in the room.
