via KVOA:

According to Everytown, a group working to end gun violence, 100 Americans are killed with guns every day.

Groups across the nation are working to end gun violence and they are wearing orange to raise awareness.

The organization that started this awareness day, Wear Orange, says firearms are the second leading cause of death for American children and teens.

National Gun Violence Awareness Day is today  but groups wear orange throughout the weekend.

Everytown and the Wear Orange organization say they are seeking to improve understanding of the causes of gun violence and the means to reduce it.

Everytown is a non-profit that does research developing evidence-based policies. They say the homicide rate in the U.S. is 25 times higher than that of other developed countries. So they want to create public-safety laws that can reduce gun violence and save lives.
