The East Cleveland Theater is a community theater that gives so much to the community. It has changed lives through its mission, but now it needs help from all of us to keep going. And you can do that with a click of your mouse.

The theater’s executive director, Theresa Tucker, says the theater is in the running for a $250,000 grant from the Pepsi Refresh Everything Project. Voting ends Dec. 31.

The money would be used to:

  • Repair major structural damages to the building
  • Modernize the lighting systems
  • Update and computerize administrative equipment
  • Improve theater security

A positive institution in the city, the East Cleveland Theater is located on Euclid Avenue and was founded in 1968. Despite the economic climate, the theater has thrived for 43 seasons. It continues to develop and implement quality programming in the arts in a wholesome environment that fosters interracial understanding.
