First Lady Michelle Obama is tackling childhood obesity with the launch of the nationwide Let’s Move campaign and its new enhanced Website.
Obama will kick off the program Tuesday with a live Web broadcast at 10 a.m. EST on Aol Health.
The Let’s Move campaign will bring together the public and private sectors to tackle the epidemic of childhood obesity. Nearly one in three children is obese, while a third of all children born after 2000 will suffer from diabetes at some point in their lives.
The goal of the program is to provide schools, parents and communities with effective ways of tackling the problem so that a majority of kids reach adulthood at a healthy weight within a generation.
