As a moment in history, the live recording was the first in gospel music history to be streamed live on the internet, carried by Sapp's label on their verityrecords.com website. After greetings from Sapp's wife, Lady Malinda Sapp, and comedy from Sapp's brother, Henry Sapp, the stage was set for a historic recording

Viability has hardly been an issue for the two-time GRAMMY winner, who has for the last decade enjoyed success at the top of the charts as one of gospel’s biggest selling artists, with hits like “Stand” and “We Fall Down." And after years of making money for other labels, McClurkin’s next venture is a label of his own.

While the information of the choirs’ demise is news to us, it’s definitely not news to G.A. I’m told the members learned that the end was near in a recent choir rehearsal where Tye broke the news. Apparently, many didn’t take the information well at all, which lead some to suspect that’s why only six singers appeared alongside him on BET’s Celebration of Gospel taping two weeks ago.

The show started off on a great note with Fred Hammond, Pastor Shirley Casear, and Kelly Price singing “Awesome God”. Steve Harvey was up next with his jokey jokes. He has been the only host for the entire 10 years of the show and you can see that he has grown. His bit this time was we all have “cuss worthy” moments when our kids or whoever gets on our nerves. Maybe so……but we all should be striving to be our best and out of the same mouth cannot come blessings & cursing.
