Pearl Road is closed between Albion and Whitney roads in Strongsville due to a large water main break at Pearl and Albion roads.
The break occurred just before 2:30 a.m. Wednesday in the right lane on Pearl Road northbound. Water was seen shooting four to five feet in the air and rushing down Pearl Road into Mill Stream Run Reservation.
A large sink hole has developed and most of the roadway is buckled.
Strongsville police and fire guessed the road would be closed for a few days while repairs to the water main and rebuilding of the roadway could be completed.
The Cleveland Water Department is on scene and is beginning to shut the water off.
