One Cleveland neighborhood is ready to fight back against crime. Cleveland Councilman Zach Reed hosted a neighborhood watch training in the Mount Pleasant community Tuesday night.
This training program usually lasts two hours for three weeks. This time they started a short and intense three-day program to help get more eyes on the streets quickly. These participants are motivated to take back their neighborhoods.
“We attract basically very concerned citizens, they want their streets safe and they want to be safe, but they also want to know how do I report a crime that I’m seeing, what should I be looking for, color of shirt, shoes or anything that helps the police to deter a crime in their neighborhood,” said Debra Lewis-Curlee, the Executive Director of Mount Pleasant Community Zone.
