1. Vice presidential debate

Vice president Joe Biden and Republican candidate Mitt Romney’s running mate, Paul Ryan, will square off in a debate on foreign and domestic policy. ABC News chief foreign correspondent Martha Raddatz will moderate at Centre College in Danville, Kentucky.

2. New border security boat

The Cuyahoga County Sheriff’s Office launches its new, 30-foot Boston Whaler on Thursday. The watercraft is another tool to fight terrorism, human trafficking and smuggling.

3. Browns Fujita criticizes Goodell

Browns linebacker Scott Fujita lashed out at NFL commissioner Roger Goodell for his decision to reinstate the bounty suspension. “Additionally, I am now purportedly being suspended for failing to confront my former defensive coordinator for his inappropriate use of language. This seems like an extremely desperate attempt to punish me,” Fujita said.

4. Christmas Ale is coming

The Great Lake Brewing Company holiday favorite, Christmas Ale, will be opened up on Oct. 25 with a poetry contest devoted to the beloved beer.

5. Rocky River fish kill indictment

A Grafton couple and their Strongsville business have been indicted with violating the Clean Water Act after investigators say they dumped liquid cyanide into a storm drain. That hazardous chemical resulted in more than 30,000 dead fish in the Rocky River.
