VaShawn Mitchell performed at the memorial service kickoff event for the commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the assassination of Medgar Evers. The somber event was held at Arlington National Cemetery on June 5th.Mitchell sang his hit song “Nobody Greater” to a crowd full of clergy, dignitaries and political leaders. The emcee of the event was Roland Martin. Others in attendance included Mrs. Myrlie Evers-Williams, chairman Emeritus, National Board of Directors NAACP; former President William Jefferson Clinton; current NAACP President, Benjamin Jealous and US Attorney General Eric Holder.
