Fast food workers in 100 different cities will be striking today, demanding higher wages.

“We’re looking for $15 an hour so that people can have a livable wage,” said Pamela Rosado of Policy Matters Ohio.

“We’re not talking about wants and wishes here, we’re talking about food, rent, clothing and transportation,” said Rosado.

Rosado says Cleveland is not one of the 100 cities where fast food workers are striking today but they are supporting the places that do.

Some union groups will meet at the McDonalds on Memphis Avenue in Cleveland at noon Thursday to bring attention to the issue.

On Wednesday, President Obama called on Congress to act and said he supports a federal minimum wage being at $10.10 an hour.
