The true story of Colton Burpo’s near death experience that gave him a glimpse into heaven has captivated hearts in the New York Times Bestselling book. Now it’s headed to the big screen.

Heaven Is For Real the movie, produced by Bishop T.D. Jakes and DeVon Franklin, had a successful Dallas International Film Festival World Premiere in Plano, Texas Thursday, April 10.

“This film is a great opportunity to bring in the margin of our community who doesn’t normally talk about faith or the afterlife,” said Jakes in an interview with CBN. After viewing it, he told reporters, “Then you walk away inspired to believe that all things are possible.”

The true story of a four-year old son of a small town Nebraska pastor who experienced heaven during emergency surgery took a town, and later, the world by storm.

In heaven, Colton met his miscarried sister whom no one ever had told him about and his great-grandfather who died 30 years before Colton was born. He shared impossible-to-know details about each.
