1. MISSING PLANE
Not again!: Another Asian airliner has gone missing, and officials fear it may be somewhere in the bottom of the Java Sea. AirAsia Flight QZ8501 disappeared in Indonesian airspace with 162 people yesterday. Crews are combing a really large area. But so far, nothing.
2. BURNING FERRY
A freezing 24 hours: A fire broke out on a ferry in the Adriatic Sea, and Italian choppers are pulling passengers off one by one. It’s painstaking work; 290 have been plucked but more than 150 remain on board the Norman Atlantic. One man died after he either jumped or fell into the frigid waters.
3. FERGUSON PROTESTS
Unspokesman-like conduct: Timothy Zoll is the spokesman for Ferguson PD. Or rather, was. He’s been put on unpaid leave after he reportedly called the memorial honoring Michael Brown “a pile of trash” in an interview with the Washington Post. He later told radio station KMOX he was misquoted.
