February 2015 will go down as the coldest February on record in Northeast Ohio.

But, this record comes as no really surprise to anyone who braved the last 28 days in Cleveland with day after day of record cold temperatures that brought the average daily temperature down firmly into record territory.

The National Weather Service in Cleveland said on Sunday the month ended with an average daily temperature of 14.3 degrees and surpasses the previous coldest February on record in 1875 with 15.2 degrees.

A total of seven record lows were set last month including on February 15th (-5 degrees), February 16th (-12 degrees), February 17th (-8 degrees), February 19th (-4 degrees), February 20th (-17 degrees), February 23rd (-5 degrees) and February 28th (-9 degrees).
