Most of us take eating lunch for granted.

For Keith Griffin, it’s another accomplishment in a long list of milestones in the last three months.

On March 8, a gunman shot Griffin on Cleveland’s east side. It was the second time in two years that Griffin suffered a gunshot wound.

He lost his parents to violence and is no stranger to the street life. But this event altered his life forever.

“My family. It’s just so hard sometimes,” said Griffin. “I want to cry. But I can’t cry. I’m too tough to cry.”

The bullets paralyzed him, ending a very promising basketball career. Some thought he was the best point guard in the state.
