Harambe was shot and killed when a 4-year-old boy fell into the gorilla’s exhibit. Some witnesses say they believe the gorilla was attempting to protect the boy, though officials say the boy was dragged through the exhibit. Officials said that, though the boy was not attacked, he was in danger.
While some people showed up for a vigil in Harambe’s memory at the zoo Monday, others took to social media to sound off.
