When you think detoxing, you think drinking liquids. Which let’s be honest, can have it’s benefits, but also be torture. You’re hungry, cranky, have cravings, and sometimes you don’t think you’ll make it another day. I was one of those people cleansing and detoxing through juice. I will admit, once you get into it, you feel good. It wasn’t until later that I learned I can detox my body just the same, but with food, and still enjoy the same benefits as I would juicing (minus the torture!).

By incorporating detoxifying foods into your everyday diet, you are not only feeding it vitamins and nutrients, but improving the overall health of the body. Detoxifying foods can help with weight loss, improve immune function, cleanse the liver, purify the blood, remove toxins, reduce the risk of chronic illness; such as cancer, diabetes, and heart disease. The other added benefits is natural energy, glowing skin, better sleep, and mental clarity.

Foods that aid in detoxing the body are kale, cabbage, beets, asparagus, brussels sprouts, avocado, flax seeds, cilantro, parsley, cauliflower, garlic, ginger, turmeric, pineapple, lemon, broccoli, and many more.
