Why Monica Lewinsky bawled watching Hannah Gadsby’s comedy show:

Before sitting down with Monica Lewinsky on stage at the Vanity Fair New Establishment Summit on Tuesday, Australian comedian Hannah Gadsby, whose affecting Netflix comedy special “Nanette” was the talk of the summer, described their meeting as such: “a former comedian in conversation with a former punchline.”

Much like Gadsby’s standup show, their exchange was better experienced than described.
It was actually not their first time coming face-to-face.
Lewinsky told the crowd that she had gone to see Gadsby’s show over the summer and reacted viscerally.

Trump’s message to those in path of storm: “God bless you all”:

FEMA Director Block Long amplified Trump’s message, saying the “window to evacuate has … come to a close.”

The President said it was “very sad” that some of the areas in the storm’s path are poverty-stricken, adding again that many people are “unable” to evacuate.

“More than we would like,” Trump said. “You have people that are stuck, they’re just stuck there.”

The President said the government has been helping some people evacuate, but he said others “don’t want to go out.”

“They will be ok,” Trump said. “They are strong, smart, wonderful people

Jael Strauss, former ‘America’s Next Top Model’ contestant, reveals she has cancer:

Jael Strauss needs another miracle.

The 34-year-old former “America’s Next Top Model” contestant has shared with fans that she has incurable stage 4 breast cancer.
Strauss recently posted the news on her Facebook account.
“I was gonna write some long thing but some of you guys deserve to know, On October 2nd I was diagnosed with stage IV breast cancer,” she wrote. “It has aggressively spread throughout my body and is incurable. With treatment it may prolong my life longer than the ‘few months’ doctors said I could make it. I don’t want to die. I need another one of those miracles that I got back in 2013.”

Postal Service seeks record price hikes to bolster falling revenues:

The US Postal Service is asking for the biggest price jump on stamps in its history.

Facing pressure from the Trump administration to address a revenue shortfall, the Postal Service on Wednesday proposed raising the price of 1-oz. letters from 50 cents to 55 cents, which would be a record nominal increase if approved. The price of each additional ounce would go down slightly.
The request was made by the USPS’ board of governors, which has been operating on an emergency basis because of a lack of confirmed members. It will have to be approved by the Postal Regulatory Commission
