Shocking Syria withdrawal plan is pure Trump:

His big gamble on a sudden and rapid Syria pullout, which broke on Wednesday, is classic Trump in execution and content after he effectively declared mission accomplished and the defeat of ISIS.
The President announced an apparently impulsive decision that shook the world, showed little sign of nuanced consideration, confounded top advisers and by the end of the day left Washington in chaos and confusion.

Staff at a bank in Ohio called police on a black man trying to cash his paycheck:

An African-American man who couldn’t cash his paycheck at a Huntington bank in Brooklyn, Ohio, says the staff was “judging” him.

Paul McCowns, 30, told CNN affiliate WOIO he recently got a new job and was trying to cash his first paycheck earlier this month, but the tellers wouldn’t cash the check, which was just over $1,000.
Although McCowns didn’t specify he was being racially profiled, social media has picked up the hashtag #BankingWhileBlack upon hearing about the incident. The hashtag is very similar to those seen in the past, such as #BarbecuingWhileBlack#BabysittingWhileBlack and #CampaigningWhileBlack, which were coined after a white person called the police on black people while they were seen doing day-to-day activities

Eliza Dushku breaks silence on alleged harassment on set of ‘Bull’:

Eliza Dushku is ready to tell her side of the story, less than one week after it was revealed that the actress received a settlement from CBS after allegedly experiencing harassment on the set of “Bull.”

Last week, the New York Times reported Dushku was the recipient of a $9.5 million settlement after she accused “Bull” star Michael Weatherly of making repeated remarks about her appearance, a comment about a threesome and a rape joke, among other things. Details of the confidential settlement were included in a draft of a report, obtained by the Times, about CBS workplace culture that was being conducted by outside counsel contracted by the network.

Missy Franklin, 5-Time Olympic Gold Medalist, Retires from Swimming at 23:

Five-time Olympic gold medalist Missy Franklin announced her retirement from swimming Wednesday at the age of 23.

She made her retirement official with a letter published on espnW.com.

Franklin noted that she was diagnosed with “severe chronic tendonitis of both the rotator cuff and the bicep tendon,” which contributed to her decision to step away from the sport.

When Franklin was told she needed surgery to correct her injuries, she decided against it since she already underwent procedures on both shoulders to alleviate pain last year

Man who spent 17 years in prison for crime his doppelganger committed gets $1.1M:

Richard Anthony Jones spent 17 years in prison for a crime he says was committed by his doppelganger. Now, he will receive a $1.1 million settlement in a lawsuit that was resolved under a new mistaken-conviction law, Kansas officials announced Tuesday.

“We are committed to faithfully administering the new mistaken-conviction statute the legislature enacted,” Kansas Attorney General Derek Schmidt said in a statement. “In this case, it was possible on the existing record to resolve all issues quickly, satisfy all of the statute’s requirements, and agree to this outcome so Mr. Jones can receive the benefits to which he is entitled by law because he was mistakenly convicted.”
Jones, who was released from prison last year, filed a petition in August asking the state to pay him $1.1 million and to officially proclaim his innocence
