Melania Trump silent as her husband attacks congresswomen by implying they aren’t US citizens:

Melania Trump is only the second first lady of the United States not born in America; the first, Louisa Adams was born in England. Yet she’s remained silent as her husband, President Donald Trump, tweets racist and xenophobic attacks at four Democratic freshman lawmakers who are all women of color.

On Sunday, the President implied Reps. Ilhan Omar of Minnesota, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York, Rashida Tlaib of Michigan and Ayanna Pressley of Massachusetts weren’t natural-born American citizens.

Ocasio-Cortez, Tlaib and Pressley are natural-born US citizens, while Omar was born in Somalia and immigrated to the US when she was young. Omar became a citizen in 2000 when she was 17 years old, according to The New York Times.

Netflix has cut graphic suicide scene from first season of ’13 Reasons Why’:

More than two years after its debut, a graphic suicide scene has been cut from the first season of “13 Reasons Why,” Netflix announced Monday.

The series is based on best-selling author Jay Asher’s 2007 young adult book of the same title. It follows the fictional story of a teenage girl named Hannah Baker, portrayed by Katherine Langford, who leaves behind 13 mysterious audio recordings on cassette tapes after killing herself. An episode in season one originally depicted Hannah taking her own life.
The scene — and some other aspects of the series — drew criticism from mental health experts who have said it might pose a risk for young people struggling with mental health issues.
A Netflix official told CNN Monday that Hannah’s suicide no longer appears on the streaming site.

She endured obscene phone calls, had to use men’s bathrooms, as one of NASA’s first female engineers:

During the historic launch of Apollo 11 which put the first men on the moon, rows of men in shirts and ties lined the consoles inside Kennedy Space Center.

But one woman stood out — 28-year-old JoAnn Morgan.
Morgan, who worked as an instrumentation controller for the mission, was the only woman allowed inside the firing room where NASA employees were locked during Apollo 11’s historic lift off on July 16, 1969.
Morgan needed to be in the room to alert the test team if anything went wrong. But she had to get special permission to be there.

Cutting about 300 calories a day might benefit your heart, study finds:

Cutting just 300 calories from your daily diet could significantly benefit your cardiovascular health, even if you’re already at a healthy weight, according to a new study.

Such caloric restriction can be achieved through techniques such as intermittent fasting, or by skipping that slice of cheesecake for dessert.

Baton Rouge police chief says he’s confident they’ll make an arrest in the killing of activist Sadie Roberts-Joseph:

Baton Rouge Police Chief Murphy Paul said he is “confident that we’re going to make an arrest” in the case of Sadie Roberts-Joseph, a renowned activist who was found dead in the trunk of her car last week.

“The community has been working with our detectives,” he told CNN’s Don Lemon Monday night. “We are getting calls, we are getting emails, we are getting text messages.”
“There will be no investigative lead that will not be exhausted in this investigation,” Paul said.
Following an autopsy on Monday, the East Baton Rouge Parish Coroner’s Office determined the preliminary cause of death was “traumatic asphyxia, including suffocation.”
