In a week when its schedule is chock-full of special programming devoted to the inauguration of the USA’s first African American President, TV One also celebrates its fifth birthday on the Martin Luther King holiday Monday, Jan. 19 at 9 PM (all times ET) with a two-hour anniversary special featuring highlights from its long-running interview series, TV One on One. Hosted by Radio One Chairperson and acclaimed former radio talk show host Cathy Hughes, TV One on One features interviews with some of the most intriguing and newsworthy public figures and celebrities in America today.

During the special, which repeats at midnight that night, Ms. Hughes takes a look back at some of the most memorable moments, the controversies and interesting topics from her interviews, including the first-ever episode of TV One on One, in which she interviewed Barack Obama, then a candidate for the U.S. Senate from Illinois, in 2004. Comedian and actor Sinbad stops by to help keep things light during the evening. The two take a look back at some of the special performances Ms. Hughes has coaxed out of her guests, including dancing with Usher; Jamie Foxx on the piano with surprise guest Regina King by his side; Terrence Howard playing guitar and singing a song he composed; Aretha Franklin playing “Canadian Sunset” on the piano; James Ingram serenading Quincy Jones with “Just Once,” the song Jones produced and they made famous together; and Beyoncé performing at Radio One.
